Who is a Candidate for a Membership in the True Freedom Plan?

The True Freedom Plan is designed primarily for the Senior whose desire is to stay in their home as they age but have waited too long to purchase traditional long term care/home care insurance. Perhaps they can no longer qualify because of health underwriting or financial limitations. True Freedom Plans give individuals an opportunity to purchase a specific plan that will “bank” access to between 1,500 & 10,000 hours of In Home Care to be utilized in the event of future illnesses, injury or challenges during the aging process when assistance at home becomes essential.

Will a member ever need to enroll again?

No. A member continues paying their membership fee according to the payment plan they chose at the time of enrollment -Annually (earns a 5% discount) Semiannually

or by automatic draft momthly from their checking account.

How can the hours in a True Freedom Premier Plan be scheduled?

To schedule service, members simply call the toll-free customer service number found on their contract or membership card.

Membership cards are mailed out to clients once all enrollment paperwork has been received and processed.

Do service hours need to be used consecutively?

No. Hours can be alternated daily, weekly or monthly. The hours of care provided by a chosen friend or neighbor termed ANYTIME Hours, can be scheduled any day of the week and during any/all hours including overnight 24/7 live-in home care. The Hours provided by a home care agency, termed AGENCY Hours, can be scheduled Monday thru Friday, 9am to 5pm for up to 5 hours a day/5 days a week.

How does a Member access the ANYTIME Hours of their Plan?

The member calls ASSI's Administration department and works with an experienced Care Coordinator to develop a plan that best addresses their needs. The member identifies the friend or neighbor (not someone living in the same household) who has agreed to provide the ANYTIME Hours. American Senior Services contacts that individual, discusses the level of care to be provided, agrees to an hourly rate, and schedules this person to deliver the services agreed upon. (This person could be a friend, a neighbor, someone from their place of worship, someone from the local senior center, etc, but cannot be a family member.) Anyone who provides the ANYTIME Hours must first be approved by American Senior Services Inc.
